Strutting my Style ft. 2019 Shoes
Last year was my first time really appreciating shoes as a key accessory that completes an outfit. One of my New Year resolutions is to not underestimate the power of a good pair of shoes and stop making my earrings the focal point of my outfit right from the get-go.
With that in mind, I decided to round-up my favorite shoe trends for 2019 and give an honorable mention to the one that served us well but simply… has to go!

Dr Martens — Spice up any outfit with the ultimate grunge move, a pair of Dr Martens.
Warning: They are very uncomfortable when you’re breaking them in but it’s worth the lewk.
Architectural Heels — These shoes are making an appearance these year and I am so ready for it. They are basically wearable art that your feet will humble brag about!
Teva-Inspired Sandals — If you thought dad shoes were odd enough, get ready for the next new hot “ugly” shoe trend, teva-inspired sandals. Even though they’re still growing on me, Prada, Chanel, & LV gave them a big thumbs up for 2019.
Flossy Heels — Thin strap, big impact. GET👏BEHIND👏IT👏
Western Vibes — Cowboy boots were all the rage this past Winter season, and I didn’t get a chance to really explore the trend. Many people in the industry have completely banned them from their closet, but I am going to finally give them a chance this Spring 2019!
Sneaker Head — Word on the street is that dad shoes are here to stay… you didn’t hear it from me, but do yourself a favor and get a pair!
All that glitters — Glitter and sparkles are about to make your shoes do all the talking.
Feathers — If Valentino is a huge advocate for this shoe trend, it would be frowned upon for me to ignore it.
Animal Print — You’ve probably already seen cheetah, leopard, and snake print take over your favorite store’s inventory—well, there’s more than that came from this year. Animal print is wilder than ever so get ready to make a statement from head to toe!
Logomania — Just like clothes, logomania is going to be plastered all over your shoes.
Sheer nylon — According to Prada’s Spring/Summer 2019, sheer nylon is hands down the accessory to layer your shoes with. If you know me, you’ll know that I’ll be looking for any opportunity to take advantage of this trend.
Tibi — Amy Smilovic, the brains and founder behind this brand, shaped my mood board for 2019 with this beautiful lineup.
Pool Slides — I was over this trend that took over last Summer the moment I saw DJ Khaled profiting off them. Unless you’re wearing Vans slides, this is your MAJOR KEY to get rid of them.
Are there any shoes you’re dying to give a try?
